  • Don't Shrug Off The Early Warnings Because Of Love

Being blinded by love—is something many people go through. It’s often easier to spot red flags in hindsight than in the moment, because when emotions are strong, they can override logic and make us rationalize behaviors we’d otherwise question.

    Why this happens
    1. Attachment bias: When we’re invested in someone, we tend to downplay warning signs because we don’t want to lose them.
    2. Hope for change: Love makes us believe the person will improve or that the relationship will “settle” into something better.
    3. Selective perception: We focus on the good moments and ignore the bad, convincing ourselves the positives outweigh the negatives.

    Common early signs people overlook
    1. Inconsistent communication or affection.
    2. Disrespect disguised as “jokes” or mood swings.
    3. Avoidance of accountability—always shifting blame.
    4. Secrecy about important aspects of life (finances, past relationships, intentions).
    5. A pattern of instability in past relationships.

    Moving forward
Love should never blind us to reality; instead, it should coexist with clarity and respect. A useful mindset is: “Love is a feeling, but trust and respect are choices.” If those choices aren’t mutual, the relationship will struggle no matter how strong the emotions are.

  • Yahaya Bello Wins Defamation Suit Against Natasha Akpoti, Awarded ₦1 Billion .
A High Court in Lokoja has awarded N1billion in damages against Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, in a defamation suit filed by former Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello.

The order is contained in the Certified True Copy of the judgement, dated April 23 on Friday in Lokoja.
The court held that based on the preponderance of evidence or balance of probabilities, judgment was entered in favour of the claimant.

Justice Justice A. S. Ibrahim, while delivering his judgement in the suit marked, “HCL/16/2023”, held that upon the conclusion of the suit, the two issues formulated for determination were resolved in favour of the claimant.

“The interview granted by the defendant on 4/11/2022 on Arise TV programme of ‘The Morning Show’ is defamatory to the claimant’s character and reputation.

“The said interview of 4/11/2022 in which the defendant described the claimant as a murderer, killer, perpetrator of evil acts, and a terror to the people of Kogi State was without justification.”
The court also gave “an order of perpetual injunction against the Defendant, [his] agents, privies or associates”, restraining them from further issuance of the defamatory statements or words against the claimant on TV or radio stations.“The sum of one billion naira (N1,000,000,000) only (is) awarded as damages against the Defendant and in favour of the Claimant,” the court said.
Bello had sued Sen. Akpoti-Uduaghan for defamation of character.

The Defendant’s Counsel, Johnson J. Usman, SAN, had, challenged the jurisdiction of the court, saying that the suit was an abuse of court process.

Bello’s Counsel, Friday Ekpa, however, countered that, saying that none of the cases before the FCT High Court was against the person of Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

After the High Court ruled that it had jurisdiction to entertain the case, Akpoti-Uduaghan appealed the ruling.

The Court of Appeal, in the appeal number, “CA/ABJ/CV/626/2024”, however, dismissed the appeal for lacking in merit and affirmed that the Kogi State High Court had jurisdiction to entertain the case.

  • Russia Detains 40 Israelis At Moscow Airport Over Iran War.
🇷🇺 🆚 🇮🇱 At least 40 Israeli citizens were detained and later released after arriving at a Moscow airport from Tel Aviv on Sunday, the Foreign Ministry confirmed following a Russian report on the incident.

The travelers were reportedly held on suspicion of having ties to Israel’s war against Russia’s ally, Iran. Security forces at Domodedovo Airport reportedly stressed to the detainees that Iran is an ally of Russia and that anyone who is an enemy of Iran is “our enemy as well.”

“Immediately upon learning of the incident, at the instruction of Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, the Foreign Ministry acted both with the foreign ministry in Moscow and with the Russian embassy in Israel,” the ministry said in a statement on Monday.

“Following this intervention, the incident was resolved, and the Israelis’ entry was approved. The Russians were made to understand that this conduct is completely unacceptable, and Israel views the incident with great seriousness,” the ministry added. While the ministry could not address other details of the detention, a source familiar with the incident told the independent Russian outlet Mediazone that the travelers were interrogated by Russian security forces on suspicion of being involved in Israel’s war against Iran, and held for five hours without access to food, water, or restrooms.

Those detained, among whom were both dual citizens and Israelis without Russian passports, were reportedly told to unlock their phones. When the Israelis refused, they were told to turn them off instead, the report said.

The Israeli citizens were released only after signing documents stressing the “inadmissibility of violating the law” and warning against such violations, according to the report.Domodedovo Airport was the scene of an incident in 2019, when several Israelis were denied entry into Russia in a spat over a bilateral visa agreement. On that occasion, they were also eventually permitted to continue their journey.

  • Emerging Trend Of Hypertension & Diabetes In Young People; Expert Urges Awarenes.
Majority of the young people didn't even know they had High Blood pressure. Some that knew they had high blood pressure, they thought I am young , it has gone and stopped their meds.

Another thing i noticed, DIABETES. Many people still don't know their Blood sugar.Diabetes still remains a big risk for Stroke But how many people know their blood sugar and fat levels? Alarming!!!

One stressful fateful day, perhaps after working, A little headache or not. Boom! They could not lift a side of their body rushed to the hospital. We imaged their brain and found a Bleed or area of brain death (Ischemia).

Some people still don't know that if you have a Family history of a stroke. It is a risk factor. You're a black man and that's an added risk already.Something we young folks need to watch out.

Alcohol, Cigarettes smoking and in some people substances. A lot of us young people still see these things are big flex but I've seen too many strokes to tell you, It isn't the Flex. A stroke reduces your functionality in a way.

Another thing I noticed with us Younger folks, We don't even know how to recognize a stroke. Use of words like "partial stroke " have made people not see stroke as an Emergency. Nothing is partial. Some still go to pharmacies, churches, etc

For context everyone needs to know.I attached a diagram here. So, if you see any of these symptoms/features, please RUN TO A HOSPITAL. DON'T PRAY!-Face Dropping-Arm/Leg Weakness-Speech ProblemRUN TO A HOSPITAL!!!

You have to understand. The Brain is a very delicate organ. Once blood supply is cut from it. In a matter of minutes it dies. Getting to a hospital on time, allow a huge portion of the brain to be salvage. Not a time for prayers or chatGpt. If the brain dies, it is irreversible.

Another thing I noticed, it is so sad that we don't have enough CT scan/ MRI scan. Some states in Nigeria , someone will have a stroke, need a Brain image and have to travel to another state. It is heartbreaking, many government don't prioritize stroke centers and imaging.

Many people have died because of this Herculean movement. We need more Public and private partnerships to invest in moreCTs and MRIs. This is because Nigeria has one of the highest stroke incidences in Africa. So what are we doing?

How you reduce your incidence of a stroke? Know these symptoms and save your health;-Eat Healthy-Check your BP and act accordingly.-Take your BP and sugar medications regularly.-Cut down on alcohol consumption and completely stop smoking-Go for routine health assessment tests and checkups-Avoid sedentary lifestyles. Move around and exercise-Know and keep abreast of all the earlier listed RED FLAGS!!!

I do hope more young people can read and share this piece. I am tired of seeing multiple strokes and the cycle continues. Time is Brain. Brain is Time.We can save more people. Please share. You'd be saving a life.

  • Man Share His Experience Living In The Same Compound With Yahoo Guys .
It is absolutely dangerous that you, as a legitimate businessman, are living in a Yahoo-infested compound sometimes even more dangerous than it is for the Yahoo boys themselves.

Now listen carefully… you are actually more at risk. Your life and your family are more at risk than theirs.

Why? Because they already know the life they are into fraud, crime, drugs, and all sorts of illegal activities. But you, who is not part of it, can easily be implicated in everything they are doing.

Let me share something with you.
I once lived in a Yahoo-infested compound, and one of the main reasons I packed out was because their lifestyle did not align with mine.

After a long day of producing paint, working on POP, and inhaling all sorts of chemicals my job is physically demanding I come back home at night to rest and spend time with my wife.

But that is exactly when they start their own activities: loud music, immoral conversations, shouting, parties everywhere… disturbing the entire compound.

And when you try to confront them, they become aggressive. Many of them are violent, some are touts educated or not, the truth is, most of them lack respect and basic morals. It became a serious problem for me.

Even during the day, you see them openly smoking without care for who is around them. Whether you are comfortable or not does not matter to them.

Now beyond the mental stress and lifestyle clash, let me tell you one of the biggest dangers.

After I moved out of that compound, about four months later, men from the State CID stormed the place. They arrested most of the Yahoo boys there.

    But guess what?

Two innocent people were also arrested. One was a trader, the other an engineer into construction both legitimate businessmen. They had nothing to do with fraud.

Yet, they were detained for over two weeks.
Even after investigations proved they were clean, the police tagged them as accomplices.

Their “offense”? They lived in the same compound and allegedly failed to report suspicious activities.

Before they could regain their freedom, they had to bail themselves with about ₦200,000.

Imagine suffering for something you know nothing about.

    That is the reality.

When trouble comes, it doesn’t ask who is guilty or innocent it hits everyone around.
In fact, it can even hit you harder than those involved, because you are not mentally or financially prepared for it like they are.

Now, I’m not saying every Yahoo boy is loud or troublesome. Some are calm you might not even know what they do.

But when you find yourself in a compound heavily dominated by them especially young, hot-headed ones constantly throwing parties and causing chaos it is a serious risk to your safety and peace of mind.

I know some people will come for me in the comments or even my DM I’m used to that. But I don’t care.

I’m saying this for your own good
Before you move into any apartment, do a proper background check. Know who your neighbors are.
Don’t become a victim of circumstances

  • Zinoleesky Parts Ways With Naira Marley, Launches Independent Label .
Nigerian singer Oniyide Azeez Adigun, popularly known as Zinoleesky, has officially left Marlian Music to start his own record label, Zinodict Music.

The singer confirmed the move on his social media pages, where he also announced a new single titled Nostalgia. This decision marks the end of his long-standing partnership with music executive Naira Marley.

The move comes after Zinoleesky shared cryptic messages on Instagram, expressing feelings of being “taken advantage of” in the music industry. He stated that he was standing up for transparency and fairness for all artists.

I am standing up not just for myself but for every artist who has ever felt powerless. We deserve better,” he wrote.

His departure has drawn significant attention, especially after years of controversy surrounding the label. In 2023, his former labelmate Mohbad died shortly after leaving the group and complaining of ill treatment. At that time, Zinoleesky remained silent, prompting criticism from some fans.

Now, exactly two years after Mohbad’s passing, many netizens see Zinoleesky’s exit as a major turning point in his career. While he did not mention Naira Marley by name in his complaints, his decision to go independent suggests a total break from his former leadership.
